Department of Clinical Psychology
The Department of Clinical Psychology at Ittefaq Hospital provides treatment and therapy for various psychiatric and psychological disorders in both adults and children.
After careful assessment and diagnosis of the condition, patients are given therapy and relaxation techniques, and are referred to a psychiatrist if medication is required as part of treatment.
Ms. Bushra Jabeen, a Clinical Psychologist, has obtained her degree of MSc Psychology, and Advanced Diploma in Clinical Psychology from Punjab University, and holds an MS in Clinical Psychology.
The department also hosts an internship program for current B.Sc. Applied Psychology, B.S. Clinical Psychology and M.S. Clinical Psychology students from various universities in Lahore.
Each patient is given attentive and individualized care, and a diagnosis and treatment plan is formed after careful deliberation in collaboration with the patient and their family, giving top priority to the patient’s privacy.
Our clinical psychologist is experienced in conducting psychological assessments and standardized tests, including IQ and personality tests, in different formats. Patients are assessed on the basis of a mixture of behavioral observation, diagnostic assessments, and interviews of the patient, their families, and the attendant.
The department is open for outpatient services from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 AM to 2 PM, requiring appointments in advance. Inpatient services are available upon referral from doctors and physicians from within Ittefaq Hospital.
Adult psychiatric services includes the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of following disorders and issues:
Anxiety Disorders (OCD, Generalized anxiety, PTSD, Panic disorder, Phobias, etc.)
• Depressive Disorders
• Bipolar Affective Disorder
• Somatic Disorders (Conversion Disorder, Hysteria)
• Personality Disorders
• Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, binge eating)
• Sleep Disorders (Insomnia)
• Relationship and marital problems
• Trauma and stress related disorders
• Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders

• Intellectual Disabilities
• Communication Disorders (Language and Speech)

Various psychological therapies are provided during sessions in order to help the patients to help themselves such as:
